Catholic Church Opens Holy Week Services The Holy Week services opened at | the St. Marys Catholic church witlr a high mass at seven-thirty thismorning. On this day. known as Maundy Thursday. the Catholic church commemorates the institution of the Holy Eucharist and impressive ceremonies mark the observance. The mass this morning was attended; by a large congregation and throughout the day hundreds of people visited the church and knelt in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. The church bells rang this morning for the last time until after the mass Saturday morning.- which denotes the peril of mourning observed by the church over Good Friday.
