LEADERS BEAT G.E. TEAM, 31-21 Even City Championship Series By Taking Holly Contest Game The Decatur Leaders evened the cries with the General Electric carters for the city independent ha hetball championship by taking the electricians into camp in a well played ya me last night at .the high i-nool gym by a score of 31 to 21. The G. E. team won the first game of the - cries a week ago by a score of 23 to 23. One more game will be played ami the team that wins that contest will be crowned city champions. The winners led most of the way last night. They took the lead soon after the start on two held goals and two free throws, leading 6 0 before the G. E. scored on a field goal by Durr, star forward on the l.mcaster high school team which won the sectional title here. Lindeman, another member of the Lancaster high school (••am, played with the G. E. last night, also. Both will be graduated litis pring. The Leaders held the lead throughout the first half, although they were crowded all the way. The score of thv’lTalf was 16-13. The G. E. quintet rallied at the start of the second period ami took the lead. IS 16, but the leaders soon came back ami regained the lead, which they held for the remainder of the game. During the last six or eight minutes, the Leaders contented themselves with passing the hall around in the G. E. territoiy and taking few shots at the basket. The G. E. players fought hard to break up the passing and succeeded in getting possession of the hall occasionally but lost it when their shots went bail.
