MAKE PLANS FOR COUNTY FIELD DAY Committee Arranges For Annual If. S. The members of the committee are Superintendent Amututz, of Rerne; O. A. Klendworth of Geneva, and Paul Graham, of Mon mouth. The following rules concerning the events were given out by the committee: Due to the fact that there are too many entrants in each event in the Adams county IJterary-Mitsic Contest for one evening's entertainment then 1 will be held two preliminary contests, one at Geneva and one at Decatur. This preliminary contest will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Apiil 17 The e schools taking part at Genova are; Geneva, Hartford, Jefferson and Herne. Those schools taking part at Decatur are; Monroe. Decatur. Kirklan.d Monmouth and Pleasant Mills. Superintendents; Send in your entrant and the selection not later than April 14. Decatur rchools will send their entrants to Paid Graham. Mon roe, Ind.; Geneva schools will send their entrants to O. A. Klendworth, Geneva. Ind. The time allotted tn each event will be lon (10) minutes. The winner in each event will represent his or her school at Rome the following Saturday evening. April LT. for the championship of the county. Ten (10) cents admission will be charged so help defray expenses. Following is a list of the events which will bo held: Piano solo; Reading; Saxophone solo; Oration: Violin solo; Clarinet solo; Vocal solo; Ladies quartet; Orchestra. In order that your boys and girls may be getting warmed up in their respective track and Held events a list is hereby published for their information. This list is arranged in the order in which it will be run off in the county so dovelope your runners accordingly. Boys 100 yd. dash; Girls 100 yd. dash; Boys 880 yd. run. Shot- put and girls 400 yd. relay race; 440 yd. dash; Running broad jump; Mile run and girls baseball throw. High jump; Pole vault; P.oys mile relay. Ft. Wayne Caseys Beat New York Celts, 35-2(5 Fort Wayne. March 12. — Coming from behind in the closing minutes of play, the Knights of Columbus thrilled the 3,(t00 basketball fans at the South Side gymnasium last night by winning the first game of the series from the New York Celts by the score of 35 to 26. A rally in the last eight minutes of the game brought the Caseys from behind and sent them into the front in on ll of the most spectacular endings ever seen in a local game. Playing against what is probably the greatest defensive team in the country, the Knights, after having attack after attack subdued by their eastern opponents, finally crashed through for a victory that will long be remembered by the frenzied fans who saw the game. Chicago Finishes Season Alone In Big Ten Cellar Chicago, March 12. —Chicago ended its 1925 basketball season last night with undisputed possession of the basement in the Big Ten conference. being walloped 17 to 16 by Northwestern on Chicago's floor. Northwestern made only four baskets during the entire game out of upward of two score attempts. The game was also thg. last on tire schedule for Northwestern, which ended the season in eighth position. ’ Chicago had one victory during the season, beating Michigan by one point. The, Maroons suffered 11 defeats. Bluffton High Baseball Schedule Is Announced Bluffton, March 12 —The local high! school baseball team will open its season this spring with 11 games scheduled.
