They expected to be gone several days. John H. Kuhn, of Paulding county Ohio, is visiting with his sister Mrs. Julia Colchin, of this city. Mr. Kulm expects to spend a few weeks here. Mr. und Mrs. Homer Goodin and children, of Bluffton, visited relatives here Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. William Schenkel and son, William Jr. and daughters Rose Kathleen and Mary Celeste, of Fort Wayne, were guests yesterday of Mrs. Hess and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. J. Miller. Glen Jackson returned to Fort Wayne this afternoon after spending the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Jackson, east of the city. The TJidfes Aid Society of the Concord Church will serve a chicken supper at the Monmouth School building Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 o’clock. The following menu will be served — creanted chicken, dressing mashed potatoes, gravy, baked beans, cabbage slaw, pie. bread, butter, jelly , and coffee. The supper will be served at thirty-five cents a plate and the liberal patronage of the public is solicited. The Pheobe Bible Class of the Reformed Church will meet Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Charles Brodbeck in Seventh street. Al! memhers are urged to attend. Tile Ladies Aid Society of the Evangelical church will meet Thurs- , day afternoon *in the church parlors at two o’clock. All members are urged to be present and bring a guest. v An important meeting of the Civic Section of the Woman's Club will be held Tuesday afternoon in the assembly room at the Old Adams County bank. A community meeting will be held in the Aber school house in Root township Thursday afternoon March 12. Three short plays will be given and a debate between the patrons — Resolved, “There are greater advantages and pleasures in country life than in city life.” A good attendance is desired. , The Christian Endeavor Society of the Evangelical church will hold its regular monthly business meeting at the home of Jesteen Hocker on Tuesday evening at 7:30. All members invited to attend. The nientbevs of the Epworth League of the M. E. church who expect 'tto attend the Epworth League rally Vo be held at Geneva next Sunday are requested to meet at the home of Mrs. Leigh Bowen on Madison street at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday evening. ■ A short meeting of the American la'gion will be held at the Legion Hall tonght at 7:30 o'clock. The Delta Delpliians will meet in the Adams County Bank rooms on Wednesday evening of this week. signs of weariness. Every player on the team is a well built athlete and they are well-coached. Lancaster will meet Fort Wayne Central in the regional tournament at Fort Wayne next Saturday afternoon. The winner of that game will pluy the winner of the Milford-Wawaka game. The Game In Detail The Decatur team was the first to appear on the floor, Captain Miller leading Ills team on the floor at 8 o’clock. The Yellow Jackets had hardly all made their appearanre before the Lancaster Bob Cats appaered. led by their mascot. After a brief warming up exercise by both teams. Referee Griffith called the two captains together and Miller won the toss, choosing the east basket. Speheger took a pass soon after the tip off and sent the ball sailing through the net. from the side ot the floor. Johnson made it 3-0 by sinking a free throw on Andrews’ personal. Strickler scored a field goal for Decatur, score 3-2. Andrews fouled. Lindeman, but the Bob Cat missed the free throw. Lindeman fouled Miller and the lit,tie captain put Decatur ahead by making both free throws good. Score 4-3. Durr tied the score by scoring one out of two free throws on Moser's personal. Miller dropped in a field goal. Speheger scored a free throw on Moser's foul. Score 6-5. Miller made a point on Johnson’s personal and then sank a beautiful field goal, putting Decatur ahead, 9-5. Lancaster took time out. Sood after play was resumed, Speheger and Bowman scored field goals and tied the score at 9-9. Bowman held Moser. but the latter missed the free throw. The half ended with the score knotted, 9-9. A field goal by Beal at tho start of the second half put. Decatur ahead 11-9, but Speheger caged a twopointer, again tying tho score. Moser held Speheger and tho latter scored one of the two free throws. Miller made a free throw, tying the count at 12 all. Lindeman scored on a long ■diot and Andrews made a point on Bowman’s personal. Score 14-13 Beal was camping under tho basket but missed an easy shot. Speheger fouled Andrews, but the latter miss ed the free throw. Bowman made a point on Strickler's personal. Score. 15-13. Bowman went out on personals- when he held Miller. Bright sub stituted and Miller made the free throw . Score 15-14. Strickler .scored a pretty field goal, putting Decatur ahead. 16-15. Miller had a cramp in h's leg and called time out. John son fouled Beal and the latter scored one point. Durr missed a free throw on Andrews' personal, but Bright scored a field goal, tying the score at 17-all. Durr put Lancaster ahead with a field goal. 19-17. Decatur took time out. On resumption of play, Beal caged a field goal, tying the count at 19-all. Lindeman hooked Beal around the neck as he attempt ed to shoot and Beal missed the two free throws. Speheger put Lancaster ahead again with a field goal, but Beal took a long pass from Miller and caged an easy shot from under the basket, tying the score at 21-all. Durr dropped in an uncanny shot, score 23-21. Decatur took I’nic out jvitli only one minute to play. Bright dropped in another field goal in the final minute and the Yellow Jackets, although they were fighting desperately, could not score again.
