Root Township Lady Denies Basketball “Yarn” A Root township iaily called the Dally Democrat 'this morning and denied that the fair sox of her township had canght the basketball fever und was desirous of meeting another team composed of farmer ladles in u game. A prominent Root township farmer was responsible for the statement in Daily Democrat that the ladies of his township had the basketball fever and he asked tlmt a challenge be issued in their behalf for a game with another ladies team. Do they or don’t they want to play?. • - ■ o— -■ Merchants Defeat Wonder Five Cagers, 36 To 10 With a bolstered lineup Fryback’s Merchants obtained sweet revenge last night for the previous defeats handed them by the Decatur Wonder Five. In a game played in the old gymnasium last night the Merchants swamped the Wonder Five under a score of 36 to 10.
