Assurance that the local team would receive an invitation was made yester day when Mr. Confer conferred with when Coach Confer conferred with the authorities in charge of the tourney. Father Peters immediately Kent a trigram to Loyola University accepting the invitation and enter ing the local team in the meet. Coach France Conter returned front Chicago last night. He stated that Decatur Catholic was the first choice of the Indiana teams on the list. However, the Vincennes team may not be invited, and only the two teams will represent Indiana. Thirty-six teams will participate ' in the tournament. To the Yellow Jackets we stty on to Imf anapolis. Catholic High now is assured of going to the national tourney at Chicago, but the Yellow Jackets have six hard games between them and the right to participate in the state tourney at Indianap olis. But the Yellow Jackets' task is far from a hopeless one and we would not be surprised to see them trot out on the floor to meet Vincennes in the first round of the state meet. Tomorrow’s the day. gang. The fireworks start tomorrow and by to-1 morrow night, about 10:30 o'clock, a few hundred of the more than 60ft teams will have fallen by the way i side with the hopes that they may do belter next year to cheer them up. Evidently fans in this neck of the woods were afraid to dope out the tourney, as we haven’t received any of the tournament dope sheets filled out so far. A half hour’s signal practice this evening will wind up the Yellow Jackets’ preparation for the tourney. We congratulate Catholic High on their season’s record which won for them an invitation to the national Catholic tournament where they have a chance to win additional laurels.
