W. McCray, who has been drilling in a new town water well, reported that he had reached a depth of 13S feet, and had struck a very good vein of water, in a bed of coarse gravel, and believed that further operations, except for a little cleaning out and testing were unnecessary. He reported that the water stood in the eight-inch hole to within IS feet of the top. and that running the big 16-foot bailer had not loweren it an inch. He is sending for a big rotary pump to test the well out, and the council will send for an engineer, who will probably be here Friday to see whether it is up to specifications.
