Borne won two out <>t three games played by the two teams last season and the Leaders are anxious to even matters. The Berne fans sent for a block of twenty-five seats for Tuesday night's game. A largo crowd is expected, owing to the rivalry between the two teams and to the class of basketball played by them. Mendenhall will bo with /he leaders in both games this week. Mark Bills will referee the game here tomorrow night. Oliver, who has been playing, with both the Leaders and, the Borno five, will play with the Leaders in the Herne series, since he was under contract with the Leaders first. Manager Ralph Yager, of the Leaders, called the attention of the fans today to the fact that Tuesday night's game will be the last one for which the season tickets will be good. The season tickets were sold for the first twelve games and the Berne game makes the twelfth contest. The Fort Wayne Knights of Columbus will playtile Leaders here on Tuesday night. February 10. ■ - ■ -o Field Goals Ry Mark M. Upp Welirßorne was beaten. Cathedral was crushed, Muncie was mauled and Van Wert was vanished. Now Go Get Gibault. It's up to the Leaders to beat [Bente again Tuesday night. Van Wert defeated Paulding 19 to 14 with comparative ease Friday night, nocording to Van Wert papers Wh.tt would the Yellow Jackets do to Paulding? The high school rooting slipped back a notch or two at the Van Wert game Saturday night. It's true that there wasn’t much interest in the Van Wert game, since that school isn't in the Indiana high school athletic association, but there should have been more pupils in the rooting section and a lot more pep during the game. Let's fill that end balcony for the Garrett game Friday night and help the Yellow Jackets beat the DeKalb county champs. s Indications arc (hat there will be a big and enthusiastic crowd out tonight to see the Catholic High eagers play Gibault and attempt to win their thirteenth straight victory. It should be a good game. Lancaster won the Wells county championship Saturday night by beating Bluffton in the final game. In all probability Lancaster will play in the district tournament here next month and the Adams county quintets are assured of hot competition from the Wells county entry. A comparison of the strength will be shown Friday night when Lancaster plays Kirkland here. In passing we want to record another victory for the Wabash Thom Cats. They clawed a 39-32 victory out of Van Buren Friday night. We haven't heard how the Thom Cats came out at Peru Saturday night, but Just Courting will be telling us about it ; tomorrow.
