Mrs. Melvin Welker. 103 South Tenth street, underwent a major operation at the Adams County Memorial hospital this morning and is recovering satisfactorily. 'Mrs. Mary Cook, who- underwent a serious operation at the local hospital several days ago is slightly bettor today. Although Mrs. Cook is still in a dangerous condition she is considerably improved. Mrs. Jesse Helm, of Fort Wayne, is (pending the day with her parents. Mr and Mrs. A. R. 801 l of Madison street. Mrs. D. J. Curran, of Lima, Ohio, is a guest at the Mrs. M. Fullenkamp home. Mrs. E.
