Jan. 14— (Special to Dally Democrat)—Additional evidence showing that there had been wholesale trafficking in pardons in Kansas, is said today to be coming out of the investigation being carried on by county and state officials. Judge Paul Heins, newly installed county attorney, is taking up the gathering of evidence where Tinkhum Veale, retiring county attorney, left off It was announced late yesterday that parole "atiorneys" had sent letters to parents and friends of convicted persons, stating that they had a pi litical pull, and for sums varying from S2OO to $5,000 could secure the grants of pardons. The amount of money asked for, it is said, depended upon the ability of the prisoner’s friends to pay. o ADVERTISED LETTERS Bettie J. Walker and Miss Ruth Robbins. H. Fritzinger. P. IF KIDNEYS ACT BAD TAKE SALTS Says Backache Ol kn Means Yon Have Not Been Drinking Enough Water When you wake up with backache and dull misery in the kidney region 1 it may mean you have been eating foods which create acids, says a wellknown authority. An excess of such acids overworks the kidneys in their effort to filter it from the blood and ' they become sort of paralyzed and , i leggy. When your kidneys get <Cug- | gish and clog you must relieve them, like you relieve your bowels, removing all the body's urinous waste, else you have backache, sick headache. iHzzv snells; your stomach sours, tongue is coated and when the weathh is bad you have rheumatic twinges. The urine is c'ouily, full of sediment, ' channels often get sore, wafer scalds ' and you are obliged to seek relief : two or three times during the night. Either consult a good, reliablq, physician at once or get from your pharmacist about four ounces of Jad Salts; take a tablespoonful in a glass' Os water before breakfast for a few , days and your kidneys may then act | fine. This famous salts is made I from the acid of grapes and lemon, i juice, combined with iithia. and has, I been used for years to help clean and stimulate sluggish kidneys, also Ito neutralize acids in the system, so ■ they no longer irritate, thus often' I relieving bladder weakness. i .' Jad Saits is inexpensive, can not | I veseent lithia-water drink. Drink' J injure and makes a delightful, offer-1 lots of soft water.
