Itrleheart is a super salesman and van put forth some very forceible arguments in favor of the things he is selling. He is a man tiiat can state his facts in away that they are readily absorbed by the audience. We are expecting today a man with a national reputation as a livestock judge, who will give us some good pointers along this particular line. The school is half over now and we feel like we have made good already. However, we have the worst to contend with in the future, but we are going to put our shoulders behind the load and push ahead. Contributed by a student. - '■ - --O Engineers Coining To Investigate Arc Lights The General Electric engineers of Fort Wayne, who will be consulted relative to changing the systr m of manufacturing current for the arc lights in this city, are expected here •sometime this week. M. J. Mylott. superintendent of the city plant stated this morning. Radio fans in this city claim that the system of lighting the arc lights causes interference to the radio sets and before the city makes the changes, the opinion of •utside engineers is desired. The city will change tho system or install new lights, if it is found that the trouble is caused at the city plant. o T. M. Reid Leaves On Long Business Trip T. M. Reid left yesterday on a trip which will take him to the Pacific coast for the Waring Glove Company. He will slop at Terre Haute, Evansville, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake, Ogden. San Francisco and I»s Angeles and will return byway of Dalia -. Texas ami New Orleans, the trip requiring abet;' five weeks. Mr. Reid came here Monday but was summoned to Fort Wayne because of a heart attack which Mrs. Rreid suffered. Mr. Reiter is employed at the Schafer Company 1 Mother and babe arc getting along nicely. Stoneburner Family Returns To Decatur John Stoneburner was culling oil old friends In this city today. Mr and Mrs. Stoeburner, who for ten years have lived at Grasscreek, Wyo., have moved back to Decatur and in the near future will move on to the old George Martin farm, south of i Decatur. They are staying at the Joe Andrews homo at present. Their slaughter, Mrs. Rollin Waltz, moved to Decatur sometime ago. Mr. Stonci burner operated the tirst moving picture show in Decatur, during the days when one reel was shown for five cents. o Montpelier Team To Play Leaders Here Next Tuesday The Montpelier Knights of Pythias basketball team will play the Decatur Leaders Ln this city next Tuesday n'ght, Ralph Yager, manager of the Leaders, stated today. The Leaders (defeated the Montpelier team at ' Montpelier recently by one point, in a thrill'ng game. Another good game iis expected here. L. Vance, manager of the business men's basketball team which will play the Kirkland township farmers here on the night of Wednesday, January 21, today asked for volunteers from the local doctors to serve at the gym during the game that
might. Mr. Vance didn't say whether his team plans to get rough or whether he is expecting a powerful offensive frbm the farmers. Perhaps both. All available ambulances in tho city are expected to be engaged for the game. also. The date of January 21 was selected today for the game. It will be played in the new high school gymnasium. The challenge for the game was issued by the farmers and was 1 quickly accepted by the local merchants. Mr. Vance, who accepted .he challenge in behalf of the business men, is busily engaged in organizing a team to battle the farmers. The farmers are saying little but doing plenty of planning. o Will File $1,000,000 Suit Against Henry Ford (UNITED PRESS SERVICE) Chicago, Jan. 8. —Suit for $1,000,mm will be filed against Henry Ford within thirty days unless he retrac ts certain statements made in his weekly magazine, the Dearborn Independent, against Attorney Aaron Sapiro of Chicago, it was announced. Sapiro has mailed Ford tlie document preliminary to filing suit. Under the laws of Michigan a formal demand of retraction must be made before suit is filed.
