Three of the local churches, the Presbyterian, Evangelical and the Baptist, held individual Daily Vacation Bible schools last summer. They were successful in many ways and now it is proposed to pool all efforts into one big school for this summer. FINE MESSAGE IS DELIVERED Young Evangelist Preaches Great Sermon At Baptist Church All of the people who attended the service at the Baptist church Thursday evening were present again last nigh for the meeting and enjoyed a message delivered by Mr. Bennett, the oting English evangelist. The young evangelist preaches in a very picturesque way, painting vivid pictures to illustrate his points. His preaching has made a fine impression on those who have heard him. Tonight and Sunday will he the last opportunities for Decatur people to hear this young preacher. He will preach twice on Sunday. The public is invited and urged to attend and hear Mr. Bennett. Hight and Mrs. Elsie Sweetin were sentenced today for the mur'ter of Wilford Sweetin and appeal for a new trial being overruled by Judge J. C. Kern. Hight must spend the rest of his lite at the southern Illinois penltealury while Mrs. Sweetin was senfenced lo years in the penitentiary at Joliet. Just 'before passing sentence on the two. Smith, of this city, against Anna L. Smith. The defendant now resides in New York, it is stated. The couple were married December 7, 1911 and separated on November 6. 1920. at which time the defendant left home with cause, it is stated in tile complaint. The plaintiff alleges that his wife refused to do her house work and care for their children, that she often left home without providing for the care of the children, and that she was gu'lty of adultery. Mr. Smith asks for a divorce and the custody of their three children Attorney C. L. Walters represents the plaintiff. Judgment For $102.96 Judgment for $102.96 and costs was awarded the plaintiffs in the case of Amos Cole, et al„ vs. Christian H. Roth.
