Open House held in connection with "Daughters Day” by the meinbets of the Woman’s Chib in the Library Auditorium Thursday afternoon from three to five o'clock was th< roughly enoyed by the large number iu attenadn’ce. The entertaining room was attractively decorated with the season’s colors and red tapers In crystal holders. In the receiving line was Mrs. Faye Smith-Knapp, president of the club, and Mrs. John Tyndall .Mrs. Henry H. Heller. Mrs. John Carmody and Miss Marcella Kern. Mr.i. J. Q. Neptune had charge of the delightful program, which was prerented by the Daughters of the club. “Oh! Little Town of Bethelem,” was the .first number and was given by the chorus, composed of twenty girls. Miss Mary Catherine Schug acted as accompanist for the chorus. The Misses Charlotte and Margaret Niblick played piano duet entitled "Moments.” by Preston, and "At The Club,’’ by Kuebler after which Miss Lee Anna Vance sang. "Little Mother of Mine,” with Miss Seliug at th'' piano solo then. Mary Neptune delighted the audience with two readings, "Pollyanna”, and “Angelina Johnson." after which the chorus sang "Silent Night.” Patsy Holthouse

Gottschalk. which took place on Christmas j eve, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dr. Gottschalk, the bridegroom, is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew b Gottschalk, and the birde Is a 'laughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew deceased. She made her home from childhood with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. E .T. Haeckcr. The ; bride and bridegroom are both well j known in Wells county. The bride ’■ studied at Earlham two years, aud I later graduated from the University Jof Illinois. Dr. Gottschalk was educated at Heidelberg, Tiffin. 0., ami at Hie Indiana Medical College, Indianapolis. He saw service in the World War and saw one year of practice at a hospital in Panama. He is now a physician at Moe Hospital, Sioux Falls. —Berne Witness. Mr. and Mrs. Gottschalk are wellknown in this city and their many , friends will be pleased to hear of their recent marriage. The Union township Woman’s Club niet at the home of Mrs. Nettie Harden, Wednesday afternoon. The election of officers was held and those who were elected included Mrs. Elva Barkley, president; Mrs. Hanuah Mamma, vice president; Mrs. Fanny Whittenbarger, treasurer; Mrs. Bertha Spuller, secretary; Mrs. Mumma. press reporter; Mrs. Harden, chalfman of flower committee, and Mesdames Spuller. Walters and Whit tenbarger. program committee. After the .business session a Christmas exchange was hold. The hostess was assisted by Miss Ruth Burger in serving delightful refreshments. The next moet’ng will he held Jan. 28. Muis Louise Brake entertained at Five Hundred Wednesday evening in honor of Mrs. Bernard Brake, of Mitehell, South Dakota. Prizes were won by Miss Bert Voglewede, Mrs. Lawrence Kleinhenz and Mrs. Joe Lost. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess.
