That is the opinion of Judge 1 ‘ 1 lo of tb» Domestic Relations Branch rd the Municipal Court. “The marriage institution t uud‘ going some serious changes and old adages which people eu-. c quoted as infallible are entirely dit' ''edited day," Judge Lev 1 "aid. "There are two good sources of both it the soc’- hi e name cause, it is the modern desire
for excitement. "People are not contended with the simpler pleasures of the home that Hatlsfled nearly everyone tt f ew ypurH buck. Many matrimonial troubles have arisen because the husband has advanced more rapidly than the wife, through hi« business, which took him 1 out among people, while she remained at home. “ In other case the wife does not stay quietly at home. She also craves excitement and attend the movies regularly, cramming romatic fancies in her head which makes her discontented with the matter-of-fact routine of married life." The divorce court is a real menace to family life for in most eases where children are to be given in custody the family can not be treated in piecemeal fashion—it must be considered as a unit—according to Judge Lewis. Marriage is most human institution one which must be protected and steered safely through troubled 1 waters." he said. "Those trobuled l waters are not for the most part huge' dramatic typhons, but little distur- 1 bailees day after until the husband ! or wife can bear it no longer and feels there must be a legal ending in 1 the divorce court.” In ten years the Domestic Relations Court here has handled cases involving 52,352 families. o Kirkland Loses (Janie To Lancaster Quintet Lancaster's first and second high school basketball teams came back with a vengence Christmas eve and jerked two fine victories as Christmas presents from the fast Kirkland township teams. The Bob Cats took the Kirkland regulars across by a score of 23 to 13, and the Lancaster second won their preliminary game 17 to 8. In the big game of the evening, the Bob Cats hit a fast pace at the start of the game and led throughout. Ernst, the star Kirkland center, was a "picked" man from the opening whistle until the last and he was held scoreless during the entire fray. The Bob Cats put up a great defensive game and one field goal each half was all that was registered by their opponents. '(J. E.
