Preble township, spent the afternoon here shopping. -o- — House Committee Makes Report On Appropriation (UNITED PRESS SERVICE) Washington, Dec. 19 —(Special to Daily Democrat)—The house appropriations committee today reported, the combined treasury and post of- , fice annual supply bill carrying a, total of approximately $763,000,000, i representing an increase over the 1925 appropriation for the two dfe ' partments of $12,000,000 but a <le-j j crease under the budget estimate for 1926 of the same amount. The bill carried $126,911,107 for the regular annual expenditures of, the treasury and $636,269,415 for the postoffice department. The committee recommended an appropriation of $11,000,000 for tliej, enforcement of prohibition aud the narcotic act. - o — Lets Contract For Dredging Ol Ditchj Bluffton, Ind.. Homer Elliott Awaits Acceptance of Resignation 'I'NITItD ’'BESS SERVICE) Indianapolis, Dee. 19—(Special to Daily Democrat)— Homer Elliott, I lilted States district attorney here, was awaiting word today from Attorney General Stone, whom he requested in a letter to accept his resignation as soon as possible. Elliott handed in his resignation last August but acceptance was postponed until the Hawkins Mortgage company mail fraud case in federal court was disposed of.
