A meeting of the directors of the Hecatur Industrial association will be , held (his evening at seven o'clock and every member Is urged to be present. Matters of importance will be discussed and a program of activities for U'ijt year be brought up. The monthly meeting of the Holy Name society of the St. Marys Catholic and of the Knights of Coluumbus will be held this evening at the K. of C. hall. A good program has been prepared and theh members arc urged to attend. The local hanks were busy today enrolling members in their saving clubs. By depositing a certain sum each week a person will have a fix amount next Christmas, plus interest. The furnance in the Peoples Ixntn and Trust company was down this morning, a bursted pipe causing the boiler to drain and one section to |crack. The damaged was repaired by noon. Miss Mae Berling left yesterday on a business trip to Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. Eva Edington, of Bryant, underwent a major operation at the Adams County Memorial hospital Saturday and is recovering nicely. Miss Iva Spangler, teacher in the grades at the Central school, is recovering satisfactorily from a major operation which she underwent at the Ipcal hospital this morning. Charles Lammiman, of 228 Rugg street, underwent a major operation during the night at the Adams County Memorial hospital. Mrs. Carrie Ellen Gephart, of Pleasant Mills, entered the hospital this morning. Mrs. Gephart will undergo a major operation tomorrow. o Indianapolis Man Is Mysteriously Missing Indianapolis, Dec. 15—(Special to Daily Democrat) —Mystery today surrounded the disappearance of Gene Hinton, from the home of his brother here. According to the police the brother of the missing man believes that Hinton met with foul play from henchmen of the bandits who earlier in the year held up and robbed the bank at Charlottsville. Ind., and es caped with several thousand dollars.
