A very interesting meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Horace Callow Monday afternoon by the Research Club. Mrs. Eley had a splendid paper on "Elizabeth Marbury." The next meeting will be held with Mrs. O. L. Vance and Mrs. H. B. Heller will have the paper on “In The Land of the Montezumas.’’ The Indies' Aid Society of the Reformed chdrrh will serve a cafeteria 'supper in their church dining room from 5 to 7 o’clock Saturday. The liberal patronage of the public 'is solicited. Committees have been appointed plans are being made for the an nual Thanksgiving dinner which will l>e served in the dinning room of the Evangelical Church by the members f the Ladies* Aid Society, Thursday November 20. Tickets are being sold at fifty cents and the liberal patronage of the public is solicited. A twoI cent supper will be served from five to seven o'clock. The Woman's Home Missionary society of the Methodist church will) .meet with Mrs. J. M. Miller Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. A good attendance is desired. The Woman’s Home and Foreign Missionary society of the Presbyter - ian church will meet Thursday at ternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the home of Mrs. A. M. Anker. Mrs. Martin Van Alsberg will lead the devotionals and Mrs. J. N. Fristoe will have charge of the program. The subject for the afternoon will be 'The National Outlook." Mrs. David E. Studebaker will render a piano solo and Mrs. Van Alsberg will give a reading. All the ladies are urged to attend. A call meeting wiM be held by the Ladies' Aid society of the. United Brethren church, at the home of Mrs Clarence Baughman at 7:30 o'clock this evening. AH members are urged to attend. Nearly ono hundred guests were in attendance at the Hallowe'en party of clever appointments given at the home of Mrs. Anna Brodbeck. east of tire city. The guests were greeted at ihe gate by two grinning pumpkin laces and were then led to the liv ing room, which was artistically decorated with black cats, pumpkin faces, witches and bats. The electroliers were adorned with an arrangement of black and orange crepe paper. At eight o’clock a grand march was held and the masked persons were guessed.
