SENATE FACES (Continued from Page One) Secretary of the Treasury Mellon s repeated championing of tbv Mellon plan. The finance committee also met to decide Whether to cull tip bonus or taxes first. This is the first "eauctis" of republicans culled since the opening of this session of congress. There is a strong sentiment in the ranks’for adopting the Japanese exclusion amendment as an answer to what some senators believe was the "unprecedented" note of the Japanese government in opposition to the pimd- | Ing immigration legislation. Bonus adherents are confident their bill will he given rhe right of way Liver taxes, and claimed sufficient votes in the caucus to swing their program. — o —- ■ NOTICE IL S.
