ACTION ON BONUS BILL PROMISED Measure Taken Out Os Pigeon Hole To Re Rushed Through Senate rl’nlted Press Staff Correspondent) Washington. April 10 (Special to Daily Democrat) —The bonus bill was taken out of the pigeon hole today to be ruahed through the senate. Republicans are agreed upon the bill as It was brought over from the house and prospects are that the senate finance committee may report it out imnu 'lately. Little discussion is in prospect in the special bonus committee meeting called by Chairman Smoot for this morning as both sides are agreed the bonus should be shot through before the tax bill is taken up. The only important evidence concerning the bonus which is to be inspected by the committee consists of various estimates of the government experts who vary by billions as to what the bonus will cost, | The lowest estimate is $2,119,000,000 by the Veterans' bureau accountants. while the treasury department thinks the bill will cost in its present form $4,850,000,000. GERMANY BUSY (Continued from page one) must meet, even if the Dawes plan is accepted, may be worked out in a European economic conference called to put the expert's report into effect. or might result from a satisfactory execution by Germany of her obligations under the plan over a
period of year*. • France probably will approve the ; Dawe* plan, as it is understood thatth**Poincare government is bound by conditions of the Morgan SI(H>.OOO,000 loan to accept the report. The liberal government of Grand Brittan also is expected to give it approval. The action of Germany still is in doubt.
