However, the little gardner was found and after she had been toltl why her flowers were taken away from her she promised to treat them right if they were returned to her. The fairy then returned the flowers to their little mistress. Between the first and second acts, little James Harkless. who is a pupil in the first gratis, furnished a bit of unusual entertainment by playing five selections on a French Harp. The youngster won a hearty round of applause after each selection. BERNE NEWS I The new water works system which is being Installed in Berne is mak- ' Ing dally progress. The crew which is sinking the niains is digging more trenches every day the weal her permits. Five weeks of sunshine will be required to conTplete that part of the system. The nupply tank being erect efi at this time sill require two or three more weeks of labor. Butcher, of Geneva, who for the last two years has been teaching the primary room in the public schools at Berne, has been absent from her school duties for more than two weeks. The after effect of the flu has delayed her return. Mrs. Butcher hopes to meet her Monday morning. Berne is to have another good band this season. The best of the Dunbar band has united with members of last year's players. The combination of old and new material has met all requirmt nts asked for by their director J. O.
