Coffee has always needed defense—one of the few articles of diet that does. No doubt exists about the fact that coffee contains caffeine, a drug which doctors prescribe as an emergency stimulant for the heart and nervous system; and many coffee drinkers know from experience that for them, coffee causes nervousness, headache or stomach trouble. Since so many people, including health authorities, have reason to question coffee drinking, can you afford to risk your health with it—when you can have a safe mealtime drink, such as Pastura? You will like the delicious flavor of Postum. It fills every requirement of a hot drink; and many former coffee drinkers even prefer it to the best coffee. With Postum as your mealtime beverage, your system free of caffeine, and your sleep wund and restful, you’ll realize that Postum has established its genuine value in health and comfort Postum for Health "There's a Reason " roMum | n V'rnPAL ’itS J*” firtna; laaum Porum aWI*. INSTALL HOG SCRAPER HERE Mutschlcr Packing Company Makes Improvements At Plant Here The Mutschler Packing company of this city recently installed in its modem plant a hog scraping machine which will clean one hog every minute, it rubbing the hair or bristles off with brushes. It is operated by electricity and does the work of four men. Many improvements have l»cen made at the Mutschler plant within the last two years and the process of killing and preparing cattle or hogs is operated on the same plan as that in vogue in the large packing plants'in Chicago. A hog is killed is placed on the steel frame and is pushed along until it comes out at the other end of the plant ready for the refrigiator. I-ASt Saturday, during a tryout test ?0 hogs wer»- cleaned of all h ilr within and hour and a half. The Mutschler company employs 30 or 35 men the year around and , during the spring and summer months several additional men will be placed on the force during the artlcfical ice making period. The plant manufactures most of the ice used and consumed in Decatur. The Erie railroad is building a switch to the plant and as soon as this is completed the company will build a stockyard and engage in the purchase of live stopk more extensively than they do now. What cattle and hogs cannot be consumed at home will then bn shipped to the eastern markets. — o I. U. ATHLETES TURN TO OUT-DOOR SPORTS • Bloomington. Ind..
