The Notre Dame mentor was invited to visit lowa by the Hawkeye university officials. Representative Denies Guilt In Grave C harge Washington, March 12. —"I am the , innocent victim of a terrible mistake," Representative Harold Knutson, republican, Minnesota, declared today in a formal statement, his first since he was arrested Sunday night on a statutory charge with L. N. Hull, a government clerk, while their automobile was parked at a deserted spot near Arlington National cemetery. Carl Woodward. 17, and Janies Kennedy, 15, were arrested by a squail from the detective bureau as they were about to step into an expensive limousine which they had stolen earlier in the evening. They kept up a swaggering front until a sister of Kennedy, Mrs. Mildred Stevens, was also brought In by the police. Then they broke down and confessed that they had victimized fortv or more persons within the last week. Both carried large automatics and ! more than S2OO each was found on the youthful "bad men."
