Saturday Last Day To File Income Tax Returns' Washington. March 12 —Saturday is the last day tor filing your income tax return. By thul day you must make your return on the income received lu 1923 and pay at least one quarter of the taxes. If you neglect to do this, you are in danger of a fine of SI,OOO plus n penalty of 25 per cent of the amount your income tax unless you can show something in the reason for failing to get in the return on time. Il’ you will fully refuse to make a I return the penalty is 410,000 fine a ■ year in prison and a 25 per cent binst in your tax. Every single person with a net income of SI.IXIO or more ami every married person with $2,000 or more must file a return if his personal exemptions relive him from paying taxes. Tax Javers wil not be entitled to the 25 per cent rebate on 1923 taxes i litis been tabled about in congress. \ provision for such a rebate is carried in the tax bill passed by the bouse, but it cannot get through the senate in time. The separate resolution providing for this reduction h:s reduction has struck a snag and cannot pass by Saturday. However, tax payers who. relying on promises by congresional leaders that the 25 per c -nt rebate would be granted take it off their taxes, will not be penalized by the treasury.
