Feb.i iipeeial To K Daily Democrat).—Pledges and atate M appropriations recorded on the book ■ of the Riley Memorial Association on H December 31. 1923. for use in con n struction of the James Whitecomb K Riley Hospital for Children, amounted jj to $1,353,259.61, according, to the annual report of the state executive committee, made public today. Total contracts let to date for construction work at the hospital, according to the report, amounted to sl,288.658. Os the total amount of money represented In the report. $953,259.51 represents pledges, payable over a period of four years; $275,000 was appropriate led by the 1923 General Assembly for construction of a power house, and $126,000 was appropriated by the legislature in 1921, for building purposes. New subscriptions during the past year amounted to $525,743.13, of which $135,941 Hl was in cash. Thirty couu ties of the state, the report shows, have contributed SI,OOO or more to the hospital building fund, and more than 25,000 subscribers are recorded on the
