The list of defendants awaiting sentence includes Dr. M. B. Klinger, of Garrett, who entered a ph a of gull ty to violation of the narcotics law.

Park County Treasurer Has Committed Suicide Indianapolis, Dec. 26 —(Special to Daily Democrat) —Examiners of the ttate board of accounts will be sent to Rockville Immediately after Christmas to < xatnine the books of John W. Chapman, county treasurer, of Park county, who cominittt ed suicide, Saturday, it was announced today by Lawrence Orr. chief examiner for the '■tate accounts board. This is the largest collection ever taken up in a single day In the St. Mary’s church ami will no doubt bo one of the largest in the state, per capita. The collection will servo a two-fold purpose, that of helping maintain the Catholic orphan homes at Lafayette and Fort Wayne and aiding the warinnocent and suffering men. women :nd children of Germany. Last year tile Christinas collection in the local Catholic church amounted to $1,113.65 The total in the state was $34,479.00, so it can he seen the local Catholics are contributing witli an Open hand and giving more than their share. Pope Pius, in an appeal sent to this country, asked the members i f the Catholic congregation to give ; t Christmas time for the sufferers < f Germany and the plan of donating all over that obtained over last year’s collection was arranged by the Bishops of the Indianapolis and Fort Wayne dioceses. In looking over the files of twenty years ago, 1903 it was found that the Christmas collection taken up at the local Catholic church amounted to 7241.00, If every congregation in the state does as well as the local congregation thousands of dollars will be obtained for the suffering in foreign < ountries. o 3HRISTM AS AT HOSPITAL HERE Ten Patients Made Happy By Nurses; Quartet Sang Yuletide Carols The happy spirit of Christmas prevailed throughout the Adams County Memorial hospital on Christmas day ml th<* good nurses did everything o make the ten patients happy and add to the Yuletide cheer. Besides •lie nurses looking alter their every want, taking sp»-<i.d pains to see that every tray brought to the patients contained a little Christmas tree and that only the choice morsels of food were given. Dr. Fr<-d Patterson. Hugh Hite ami Alva Nichols, of this city, and J. Bruce Patterson, of Leachville. Aik., sang Christmas carols on the landing between the I first and second floor and added ' greatly to the spirit of things. A Christmas tree, lighted witli elwtrk- candles and decorated by Miss Emilio C Christ, the superin tendent. and the other nurses graced the main entrance and lobby of the hospital. On Sunday evening at 6:30 o’clock the members of the Christian Endeavor of the Presbyterian church sang carols in the corridors of the hospital nnd thus ushered In the hap py and joyful Christmas celebration. TWINS SUFFER BROKEN ARMS Twin Boys Meet With Similiar Accidents Within Six Months Within six months Willard and Willis, nine-year-old twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bebout, of North Third street, have broken their arms, Willard, falling this morning over the outside cellar door, breaking his left arm just above the wrist when he fell on the cement step. Last July, Willis broken bis arm in four places when lie fell from the abutment of the north river bridge. The accident this morning to Willard happened so quickly that it was difficult to obtain the exact details. Neighbor boys stated that he was sitting on top of the cellar door, one of those built on a small incline, when he lost his balance and fell over, striking his hand on the cement steps A local physician was called and the injured arm was set. Selling featured initial trading in wheat. Heavy liquidation in December brought Values to 100%, the lowest for some time. This condition also reflected in the May and July deliveries. Receipts 30 cars. December corn displayed the most weakness. Heavy liquidation induced by large receipts, slow cash demand and increase in the visible supply were tlie features. Replacement orders served to create a somewhat firm undertone in the distant deliveries. Receipts 440 cars. Weakness in other grains was conveyed to the oats market. Receipts 120 cars. Provisions displayed a strong and higher undertone.
