Busche had as her guests at dinner, Wednesday, Mrs. Christena Habegger Leiper and six-weeks-old son, of New York and Mrs. Carl Habegger and little daughter, of Berne. Mayor DeVoss and Water Superin tendent Orval Haruff attended the Masonic meeting at Fort Wayne. Miss Anna Adler made a business trip to Fort Wayne. Several boosters from here will attend the Peru-Decatur football game at Peru Saturday. Harry Helm has returned from a several days’ business trip to Fort Wayne. Gerald Cole of the Star Electric Co. is today installing at the home of Geo. Wemhoff. on Eighth street, a tine Radiola VA. radio receiving set. and at the home of Daniel Aughenbaugh. a Crosley Model VI. “the little wonder set." Mr. Wemhoff and Mr. Aughenbaugh have fine receivers and will enjoy many evenings at home listening to grand opera, etc., over their sets this winter. The So Cha Rea met Wednesday evening at the home of Miss Cecile Miller on Marshall street. At five hundred prizes were won by the Misses Florence Harris, Marie and Regina Murtaugh. A theatre party has been planned for next Tuesday evening, when the members of the club will attend "Abie's Irish Rose,” at the Majestic, in Fort Wayne. The next meeting will be with Miss Esther Miller. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. The American Association of University Women, which was organized here recently, held* a picnic! suu peV and business meeting at the home ot Miss Helen Walters Wednesday night. The following ladies* are members of the organization: Miss Glenn Jackson, Miss Lucille Pugh, Miss Josephine Myers, Miss Vivian Burk, Mrs. Charles Dugan, Mrs. Felix Holthouse, Mrs. Hattie Obenauer, Miss Martha Tyner, Miss Ruth Glein. Miss Helen Walters, Miss Naomi Gilbert, Mrs. John Niblick. Mrs. Chalmer Porter, Miss Esther Sellemeyer, Miss Agnes Sellemeyer and Miss June Ossenberg. The next meeting will be held on December 12, with Miss June Ossenberg as hostess. The Kings Heralds of the Methodist church will meet Saturday afternoon at two-thirty o’clock at the home of Mrs. Ben Devor on Adams street.. The Ladies’ Aid society of the Calvary Evangelical church meet Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. James Darr. The society has changed the date of their meetings to the third Thursday. The meeting from the first Thursday in the month was an all-day affair and knotting comforts was enjoyed. Two comforts were completed. At n'oon a pot luck dinner was served after which a business session was held. • The usual deyotionals of singing, scripture reading and prayer was held and the roll call and minutes were read. Eight members and several visitors were present. The dues! and free will offering amounted to $1.48. The ladies decided to serve lunch at the Chamber Miller sale, November 27. It was also decided to hold a parcel post sale at their next regular meeting, which will be held at the home of Mrs. Clara Hays. Dec. 20, at which time a Christmas program will be given. Plans were made for the annual Thanksgiving dinner which Mill be held next Thursday. November 22. This Is an annual feature and is always given one week previous to Thanksgiving. A chicken dinner will be served at noon from eleven until one at fifty cents per plate, and a two-cent supper in the evening from five-thirty until seven. The section for this month gave a financial report and turned $41.19 over to the treasurer of the society. The Psi lota Xi Sorority girls opened their Second Hand Store at the Library at noon today and it will remain open this evening until nine o'clock and tomorrow all day and evening.
