Hie People’s Voice SUNDAY SCHOOL NEXT SUNDAY. Editor Democrat: On November ISth, "The Missionary Activity of Christ" will be studied by the many Sunday schools throughout Christiandom. This great teacher in represented in the lesson us going "About through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good tidings of the Kingdom of Cod and with him the twelve.” He is further represented as "healing all manner of diseases and all manner of sickness.’ Another very forcible thought is "For God sent not tlie Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him.” Thus you will note three very strong thoughts that uro emphasized. First, the healing power, and the third is the saving power. Many other thoughts are expressed in these quotations of scripture that compose the lesson but time and space for them here. Time ami space are not the obstacles to a clear vision. Human nature as it hits been taught or untaught presents a wonderful bartier. It is almost a universal impression that people must die to go to Heaven. Any other thought would be evidence to a sanity board sufficient

Ito send a man to the asylum for the insane. Yet Christ taught his desciI pies to say, "Thy Kingdom Come.” I Now, how can the Kingdom come to you when you must die to go to it? There is one solution, that is, to remetjuber that God's Kingdom is a spirited Kingdom and Is not of the Material Kimi. The spiritual construction will enable us to understand Christ when lie said, "My Kingdom is not of this world." It surely was not a political Kingdom, nor an animal Kingdom, nor a Mineral Kingdom, nor was It anything of an earthly substance, but was of the spirit. Tlie second thought which embraces the healing power is just as mysterious as that of the Kingdom. Every body admits that the mind has a wonderful effect on the body. Good humor is absolutely essential to perfect digestion. An efficient farmer knows that fright will destroy the prodm ton of milk. It will interfere with the total egg crop, or it will greatly intervene and block the fattening process of all animals. The farmer that relies on the dog to do his work is a back number. Dog managed cattle means money out of pocket "I am getting better every day and in every way” work wonders. So they say. If you can accept the mental power to heal and deny the spiritual, then you are not of the spirit and are not of God’s Kingdom.
DECATUR DALEY DEMOCRAT, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1923.
If ye are not of God then read John 8:44. “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do." Being a child of the devil, you are in a position to begin the process of making hell on earth for yourself and your neighbors. The world is full of all this and if after counting all the head aches, thefts, bank robberies, mobs, murders, suicides, disrespect for law, plundering leglslaturers ami sessions of congress, and then if you do not confess that this Is hell, it Is because you are of your father, the devil and like unto him. a liar. The third thought is the “saving power." From whence does this deliverance come? We positively know that there is no force in materialism that will save. Every page of history repudiates the sword and diplomacy. The records of the ages discredit law as a saving power. If the church is removed from society and the love of God is taken from the heart of the people, this whole business will be "No Man's Land" in no time. For a more complete statement of the facts, turn to John S. 16 and 17 ami read: "Fod God so Iqved the world that he gave his only begott n son, that whosoever believed on him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent not the son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him." Please note that the work! does not have to die to be salved and that whosoever believes includes more than the Ku Klux Klan or the Unity League. If you want to know the truth turn to Ephsians 4.6, and you will find. "On God Father of all, who is above all and through all, and in you all.” Then turn to Galations and learn, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Now if we had any Pauls to write the scripture in our modern language, he would say, there is neither methodist nor Presbyterian, there is neithc r Lutheran nor Catholic, there is neither Baptist nor'Reformed, there is neither male nor female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Then what would happen? If there were anyone in the above named couplets who was there for selfish purposes and was trying to push creed ahead of the spirit, he would immediately contemplate throwing stones at Paul. Teaching does not change the nature of a child. Placing a duck egg under a hen does not bring a chicken. Dressing the devil in a church robe does not make a Christian. It is the spirit, the lite that is within that saves. The Kin ? itvm. the healing power and the saving power worketh from within. o Frank Rowley was a business visiter ■in the city last evening. o Home-made Candy at Gilpens Grocery.
