One of the prettiest prenuptial parties of the season was that given by Miss Irene Zwick. at her home on North Second street, last evening when she entertained fourteen intimate friends of Miss Mabie Walters whose marriage to Harold Sautters will take place Sunday, September 16. The home was beautifully decorated with a profusion of garden flowers. Bunco was played and prizes were won by the Misses Velma Walters and Margaret Zwick, who presented them to the bridwelect. The guests were then invited to the dining room where a two course luncheon was served. The colors of pink and white were carried throughout the entire decorations. Silver vases filled with pink roses and silver candle sticks holding pink candles aded- to the attractiveness of the table. From the chandelier above, pink streamers were fastened to the corners of the table. The centerpiece was a charming miniature bride standing in a basket of dainty white flowers. A corsage of pink roses tied with a tulle l>q'v marked the bride's place at the table. Small corsages of sweet peas were given the guest as favors. The Woman's Christian Temperance Union met at the home of Mrs. John Vail Tuesday afternoon. -A good number was in attendance and a very interesting meeting was held. The election of officers was held for the ensuing year, which resulted with Mrs. L. A. Thomas, being elected president; Mrs. M. WertzHbrger, first vice-president; Mrs. William Butler, second vice-president; Mrs. H. Butler, third vice-president; Mrs. Mary Eley, fourth vice-president; Mrs. M. The marriage of Charles McConne- i hey, only son of Mrs. Molly McConnehey, of this city, to Miss Blanche Woodruff, of Wellsville, Ohio, was solemnized Thursday, September 6. Mr. McConnehey was graduated from the local high school with the class of 1920 and went to Wellsville, Ohio, where he has been employed as brakeman on the Pennsylvania railroad since that time. Mr. and Mrs. McConnehey returned to Wellsville this morning after spending a week with relatives here. The Misses Frances and Helen Dugan delightfully entertained at ten tables of bridge last evening at their home on West Monroe street. The I house was beautifully decorated with vases of pink and white cosmos, and the grate fires added to the beauty as well as the comfort of the Spacious rooms. Prizes were won by Mrs. John Carmody and Miss Angie Flrks. Oats: Sept. 3834 c; Dec. 3914 c; May 42c. o Thieves Steal Ducks And Geese In County Thieves have stolen between 300 and 400 ducks and geese in the southern part .of Adams county this week. Sheriff John Baker stated today. The territory covered by the thieves, who I took no chickens, but all ducks and geese, includes Blue Creek, Monroe, and the southern part of Washington I township, and down into Jefferson and Wabash townships. Judging from the appearance of the tracks left, the thieves had a truck with a trailer attached. No trace of the thieves has been found.
