Miss Germaine Christian went to South Bend this morning to enter her second term at St. Mary’s of Notre Dame College. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Kohls and family and George W. Stump have as their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Stump and family, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Jones and family of Cody,- Yoming. A. R. Pierce, for many years in the drug business here and now a retired resident at Fort Wayne, was calling on friends here this afternoon. He left here thirty years ago selling his store to Page Blackburn, who conducted it until Mr. Burroughs took it over, several years ago. Mr. Pierce is in good health and enjoyed his visit here today very much. Miss Mabie Hower went to Pori la-.1 today for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Ford.

Will Wilmington, of Toledo, Ohio, was In the city yesterday, the guest of his mother, Mrs. Catharine Wilmington and hls aunt, Mrs. Ed Phillips. Ills mother is quite poorly. Dr. J. 8. Boyers attended the Fort Wayne Medical Meeting last night. This was the first meeting of the season, following the summer vacation. Meetings will be held each Tuesday night during the winter. Miss Naomi Holthouse entered Sacred Heart Academy, Fort Wayne yesterday where she will continue her studies for the next year. Miss Germaine Christen returned this morning to St. Mary’s College for women at South Bend. She was accompanied by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Christen, the trip being made by au* ■. Miss Velma Erwin is also a student at the school. ■ The college boys and girls are leaving this week for school. Adams County has about 150 young people attending school this year. B. T.
