Getting the Best out of Gas 1. Use the right burner. The biggest burner on your stove uses 50 percent more gas than the others, and four or live times as much as the simmer burner. Use the big burner lor a dish will) very large bottom only. Use the simmer burner, the smallest. Io keep things boiling once they are skirted on the bigger .jets. 2. Turn the burners down when the things have’ started to cook. 3. Keep lhe burners clean and lhe jets open. I. A pressure cooker will save money in cooking lougl) meats, vegetables and cereals. 5. Bake where possible at low temperatures, or in a slow oven. It lakes less gtis to keep lhe oven going at low temperature.
