OBITUARY , Nicholas William Berger. «on ot< Nicholas and Sursnna Berger, w»s born at Bethleham Stark Co. Ohio. , April 18. 1851 departed this life. Jun«*| < 25, 1923, aged 72 years 2 months and , 7 days. < His parents came to Vera < ruz. moved to Wells Co., Ind. from Stark, Co., Ohio, when the deceased was - years old. Fourteen years later the parents moved to the Berger home stead in Kirkland township. He has been a resident of Kirkland j township for 56 years. He was united in marriage to Ema 1 line Billman Sept. 18 1879. To this 1 union were born four daughters. Catheryn at home, Mrs. Thomas Griffiths, of Kirkland township; Mrs. William Jackson, of Wells Co., and < Mrs. Robert Sovine, of Kirkland town | ship. , Mr. and Mrs. Berger moved to their • warm place in their hearts for chib ’ dren. having taken into their home, two boys, whom they raised to man- | hood. Frank Bright, of Tocsin. Ind. f and Irvin Mankey, of Bluffton, Ind., Mr. and Brs. Berger moved to their present home in ISS4. He with his side companion united' with the Church of the Brethren inp August 1880 and lived a constant ex- 1 emplary Christian life the rest of his , days. While in good health he enjoyed ■ life but after disease prayed upon him he often expressed his desire to part this life to go home to the Father. He leaves to mourn his departure , his wife, four daughters, seven grandchildren, thron brothers, four sisters, many other relatives and a host of near friends. Our loss is his gain. Indiana Leads In Homes Lighted With Electricity Indianapolis, July 9 —lndiana leads n the number of homes per capita equipped with electric lighting. The statement, issued by the Indiana Committee on Public Utility information. is based on a national survey. Os all the states, only seven have more homes wired for electricity and all of them have much larger populations. In Indiana many smaller towns have a greater percentage of houses wired than Indianapolis. Crawfordsville leads the list with 96 percent. Fort Wayne, Mishawaka and Richmond each have 95 percent, while cities having more than 90 percent are Garrett, Kokomo, Marion and Muncie. Indianapolis has only 81.6 percent. It is estimated that about 65,000 homes in Indianapolis are using electric current. o Easy Divorce in China.
