Arnold and family Kennth Finch and Arthur Higgins, who are employed at Fort Wayne, spent the 4th in Geneva. Dr. Ayres, a dentist of Indianapolis, will locate here in the near future. Minneapolis, 11; Toledo, 8. — AMERICAN LEGION TEAM TO PLAY WOODBURN HERE SUNDAY After being idle for the last two Sundays, the local American Legion baseball team will get into action tomorrow in a game at Bellmont Park, with the strong Woodburn Grays furnishing the opposition. This will be the third home game of the season for the locals, they having defeated the Huntington L. A. C. team here and lost to the Fort Wayne firemen on Firemen's convention day. Reports from Wixidburn state that the visitors Sunday will be strengthened by the addition of several new players. Although a small town. Woodburn always has a strong baseball team and local fans can rest assured that they will see an interesting contest at Bellmont Park tomorrow afternoon. The Legion is trying hard to give the local fans a good ball team and are deserving of support from all Decatur fans. The game will be called at 3 o’clock. Admission will be thirty-five cents including war tax. _o GENEVA BOOSTERS TAKE ON PARKER CITY AT GENEVA The Geneva Boosters will attempt to add another victory to their string 'I Sunday afternoon at tho-ofcpcnse of ime Barker City outfit. The game will I lie played at Geneva, starting at 2:15 o’clock. Parker City has a fast team which has played some of the strongest teams in the gas belt and has lost only one game this season. Geneva. likewise, has dropped only one contest this year, losing to Montpelier lin an interesting game. The same lineup of the Boosters which defeated the Fort Wayne Kips on the Fourth lof July will start the game Sunday. GRAYS CANCEL GAME WITH 8080 YANKS TOMORROW The baseball game scheduled between the Decatur Grays and the Bobo Yanks at Bobo Sunday afternoon, has been canceled by Manager Candle. of the Grays. Mr. Candle called off the game on account of alleged friction between the two teams. The flrays defeated the Yanks recently by a score of 22-5. Mr. Candles stated today that he would play the Yanks on a neutral diamond with a neutral umpire, winner to Take all receipts. o— PREBLE AND PLEASANT MILLS MEET TOMORROW The Prebl? and Pleasant Mills baseball teams will cross bats on the : former's diamond Sunday afternoon. Nine members and five visitors were in attendance, with dues amounting to $1.35. The ladies decided to have an ice cream social July 14. on the church lawn, to which the public is invited.
