McCormick, harvester king. Miss McCormick is also a granddaughter of John D. Rockefeller. The wedding took place in London with the consent of the bride’s father.

Mrs. Mary Congleton returned this week from an extended visit in Detroit with her daughter, Mrs. Bert Owen and family. MrK IMariou Reber and jsqn, of Washington township, were shoppers here today. Mrs. William Bleeke, of Union township, was here today shopping. Mrs. Charles Nyffler, and son, of Preble, were shoppers here today. The Misses Blanche McCrory and Neva Brandyhjerry went to Fort Wayne to spend the day. The Misses Vera Bright and Winifred Kitsch went to Fort Wayne this afternoon to visit friends. Charles Kukelhan, of northcast of the city, was a business visitor here today. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Bell and son, William, will leave Sunday evening for Atlantic City to attend the Northern Baptist Convention. Mrs. Laura Stewart and sons, of Wren. Ohio, are spending the weekend with Dr. Burns and family.

Durkin visited at Bluffton last evening. Cordon Rentchler of Hamilton, ()., is expected here Tuesday to attend to business at the Decatur Cutting Company’s plant in which ho is interested. A letter from Mrs. P. L. Andrews, Fort Wayne, morning says her hm hand’s condition is very serious with tiie end expected at any time. She adds “His suffering is intense and the doctor keeps him under the Influence of morphine tablets all the time.’’ Mr. Andrews has been ill with a cancer on the face for several months. He was for many years prominent here, serving as postmaster and was for a long time associated witli Decatur newspapers. A card advertisement sent, out says that parties desiring copies of the illustrated pamphlet published by Rev. L. W. A. Luckey can secure them by addressing Publicity Committee, Bar Harbor, Maine, free. The booklet has gone over big. Attorney H. B. Holler transacted business at Bluffton last evening. C. A. Dugan has purchased a four pas; enger Chandler car and has erected a new garage at his home to house it. Carl Pumphrey has purchased the barn located at the rear of Mrs. Woodwards lot on South Third street and is having it torn down. The lumber will be used to construct a garage on the lot just south, recently purchased and where he plans to erect a modern home next year. Mrs. Dallas Elzey, of Fort Wayne at rived this morning to visit with her grandmother, Mrs. John A. Mamma, who has been suffering with diabetis gangreen for the past few weeks. — o— -■—— Liberia’s Schools. In the schools of Liberia, as soon as a student has mastered one class he begins teaching others. He in turn is taught by those who have finished the <ia -s above him. Many of the childrer walk eight miles through the swamp* to tile school*. NEW MINISTER BEGINSBUTIES Rev. Loose, New Pastor Os Evangelical Church, Preaches Tomorrow Rev. R. W. Loose, new pastor of the Evangelical church in this city will be officially welcomed to the church by the congregation at the Sunday morning servies. Rev. and Mrs. Loose came here yesterday from Fort Wayne. Rev. Loose having been 1 .' tor of the Crescent Avenue Evangellcial church there for several years. Rev. Loose was assigned to the pastorate of the Evangelical church in this city at the conference held at South Bend last week, he succeeding the Rev. L. C. Haney who was given a charge at Hibbard, Indiana. Rev. and Mrs. Haney and children loft this week for their new home. Rev. Haney will also attend college during the winter months. Rev. Loose announced that services at the church on Sunday would be held, at the same time as heretofore except that the evening services at 7:30 would not be held, the congregation uniting in attending the baccalaureate services at the Methodist church Sunday evening. Rev. Loose will deliver a sermon at the ten-thirty services Sunday morning' and every member of the congregation is planning to attend and extend a hearty welcome to their new pastor. The game will be called at 3 o'clock. The Frog Eye team is considered one of tile fastest amateur teams in this part of the state. Last Sunday they defeated the Fort Wayne Tigers in a no-hit, no-run game, 4-0. However, the Grays are not down hearted and they believe they can finish on top of the score Sunday if the breaks are even.
