The Civic Section of the Woman's Club met Tuesday afternoon in the Rest Room of the Library, for a business meeting* At a previous Mrs. Grace Walters was elected . chairman of the section but being unable to serve resigned at this meeting. Mrs. Hattie Suttles was elected chairman; Mr< Nellie Haney, treasurer to take the place of Mrs. Hattie Suttles; Mrs. Grace Schafer, assistant chairman; and Mrs. W. K. Smith, secretary. The report of the playground committee was read, they having completed the erection of a tennis court at the South Ward and a horse shoe court on Monroe street. The section decided to meet every two weeks from 7 to 8 in the Rest Room of the Library. * Mrs. Herbert Kern's section of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority will give a benefit Bridge and "500" party at the Elk's hall Friday evening. A parcel post sale will be held before the games which will start promptly at eight o'clock. Those who ' are hot there promptly at eight will forfeit their first game. Tickets are being sold for 35c and may be purchased from any member of this section. Mrs. Will Bowers entertained the bridge Club last evening at her home on Monroe street. Out of town guests were Mrs. Edward Wilson, of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Robert Peterson. of Indianapolis. The guest prize [ was won by Mrs. Chalmer Schafer. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. Hause-Vore The wedding of Coach Raymond B. Hanse, of Berne. t> Miss Ruthella Vore, of Bluffton, occurred Saturday, April 28. but was kept a secret until rumors were received in Berne. I Tuesday evening. The wedding took place at Coldwater, Michigan, with tile single ring ceremony being used. Mr. Hause is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Hanse, of west of Bluffton. He is the graduate of the Liberty Center high school and later attended TriState College and Muncie Normal and will attend summer school at Franklin College. Mrs. Hause is the daughter of Mrs. W. S. Kelley, of Bluffton, and has heen employed as a telephone operator at Bluffton exchange for some time For the present they are making their home with the groom's parents. w > . Judge Sutton today awarded judgment in the sum of $488.38 in favor of the plaintiff in the case of Lavina Bricker vs. George W. Fravel -et al. [ Judge gtutton returned from Portland last night after acting as special judge in a case in the Jay circuit court yesterday. The case was not completed and it will be necessary for Judge Sutton to return there on [ May 31. >
