Christen was the low bidder on the general contract, at his price of $41,930.00, for the building of the proposed beautiful Zion Reformed church, bids being opened this morning at ten o'clock by the building committee at the Fruchte & Litterer law office. August Walters was the lowest bidder on the plumbing. price $495.00; A. J. Moser and Company. Berne, were low on the heating system, price $2,645.00; and the Schafer Hardware company was the lowest bidder on the electric wiring, their bid of $1,028.00. being the only one submitted. • Other bids filed on the general contract were: Moon & Butler, $44,395.00; Hisey & Bebout, $42,'.8200; Milo Cutshall. Akron. Ind.. $46,300.00 Fred Linn. $49,795.00. Three other bids were filed on the heating system they being. August Walters. $3,505.00 Christen & Smith, $2,993.00; P. J. Hyland, $3,410.00. Awarded The general contract price does not include the art glass and this is estimated to cost $1,000.00. The congregation had hoped to build the church and furnish it at a price not to exceed forty or forty-five thousand dollars and it is not known if the members want to take on additional financial obligations in . order to build the church this year. It was stated that the congregation was almost unanimous in the desire to build the new church, but Whether or not the increased cost of construction will bring about a postponment of the building sis not known.
