April 5. —(Special to Daily Democrat) — Jess Eschbach, head of the suite board of accounts will resign at the expiration of his term of office May 1, it was learned today. lie will become associated with the Lincoln Trust company of Fort Wayne, or interests of S. W. Strauss and company, investment brokers. It was said around the state house that laiwrence Orr of Col'bnbus is the likely choice for Eschbach’s successor. Ed Farmer, budget clerk, is also a candidate. LEAVE BUNGALOW BEAUTIFUL; HOPE TO ARRIVE HERE FRIDAY The Misses Gertrude and Lena Holthouse and Amelia Tonnelier who have been spending the winter at the “Bungalow Beautiful,” New Smyrna, Florida, left today for home and hope to arrive here by Friday. They state that the weather there is hot and that most of the tourists have left for the north. Miss Tonnelier won the “Bungalow Beautiful" about two years ago when she was awarded the prize for writing the best essay on the advantages offered by New Smyrna. o —-— Harry Smith Again to Head National Guard Indianapolis, April 5. —Reappointment of Harry H. Smith as adjutantgeneral of the Indiana National Guard has been decided upon by Governor McCray, it was said today. The new law reorganizing the Indiana guard becomes effective on promulgation of the facts of the 1923 assembly and requires the appointment of an adjutant-general. General Smith was first appointed by Governor Goodrich. Reappointments of Thomas Roberts, chairman of the Lake county Republican central committee, to another four-year term on the Industrial board also is expected. Mr. Roberts’ present term expires May 17. It is understood today that the governor will not reappoint Kenneth Dresser, of Peru, whose term as a member of the industrial board has expired. Henry A.
