It was charged that Gerber hauled a heavy load of lumber over the Albert Heppert macadam road at the southwest edge of the city, while the road was in a soft condition due to the rain and thawing. Gerlier paid his fine. Fined for Hauling Heavy Load on Road George Darris, of Bluffton .appeared before G. F. Kintz, Justice of the Peace here this moning, and entered a plea of guilty to a charge of heavy hauling over the Bluffton-Decatur macadam highway in violation of the state road law. He was found $lO and costs, which he paid. Harris hauled a heavy load of cream over the road last Monday, it was charged.

Even the bootleggers are using Blue Devil- it makes the moon shine, 26-28-2 ARRESTED FOR STEALING TIRE Leroy Kahn Held in Jail at Bluffton on Charge 1 of Petit Larceny Bluffton, Feb. 28 —Leroy Kahn, age IS, was arrested Monday night by Chief of Police Henry Gehrett anil Deputy Sheriff Albert Frauhiger on a charge of petit larceny, in connection with the theft of a tire from an auto mobile belonging to Harry Mendenhall on Clark avenue. Kahn . admitted the theft. The police received a call about 9 o’clock that Kahn was seen taking a tiro from Mendenhall's machine, which was parked in front of the latter's garage. A search was then started and the two officers at the [ same time discovered Kahn ami two companions on South Main street near the postoffice. They directed Kahn to drive back to the Menden hall garage and there he admitted the theft of the tire. The companions . of the youth were Earl Rothgieb and - Froggie LaTurner, both of whom de- • nied any direct connection with the ' theft and state that they were merely guests of Kahn in an auto ride. This is Kahn's second offense, ac- - cording to the police. His first trouble was when he forged the name of J his grandmother to a check. At that time he was let go on a promise of good behavior.. The boy stays with his grandmother on E. Spring St. He does work, it is said, and his grandmother supplies him with an automopile and spending money to while away his. time. He is a son of Lee Kahn, of Decatur. 5 The boy said that he had a blow--8 out of one of the tires on his machine !. as he was driving south on Jersey y street and that he found it more expedient to take a tire from Men- ,] denhall's car. He said he then drove to the Hartman tilling station where [■ he put the tire on his car. ■ Kahn is still in jail.
