Little Helen Sella, who han been in a dangerous condition for the past week, suffering from a complication of diseases, is reported as slowly Improving at this time Mr. Henry Thomas, of Decatur, was here 'Thursday on business Mrs. Ford Kessler and son, Harve, were guests at dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Kessler, Sunday. The Ladles’ Aid society of the M. E. church, numbering 17 members, met at the home of Mrs. J. A. Hendricks. Thursday uftenoon to hold their regular annual meeting for the purpose of electing officers to serve during the ensuing year The regular routine of business was transacted. an excellent lunch was served and a good time was had. The officers chosen were: President, Mrs. Busche; vice president, Mrs W. L. Keller; treasurer, Mrs. J. A. Hendrick; secretary, Mrs. M. S. Llechty; Cor. secretary, Mrs J. P. Heffner; chairman work committee Mrs. J. J, Hofer. Mrs. L. A. Thomas, for many years a member of the society, but who has resided in Decatur during the past four years, was present and again paid her dues for the continuance of her membership for another year. Mrs. Themis 13 one cf the loyal and faithful workers in this organization, and has seldom failed to attend the meetings of this organization. The Eadies’ Aid Is a most valuable adjunct to the church, and are continually busy doing good to relieve the wants of the needy or anything that comes to their attention. They have gained an enviable reputation as being the best people on earth when it comes to furnishing dinners on all public occasions, as they have the best of cooks in their ranks who know how to serve the hungry. Homer Winteregg and Roy Hock were at Fort Wayne, Thursday on business. Mr. Kaehe, living southwest cf town, informs us that hts four-year-old son will brobably be blind from the effects of a powder blast which took place at his home several days ago while the children were taking powder from shotgun shells which they secured, putting the same into a tin cun and settiu!; fire to it. Three of the children were badly burned. The little lad had his face and eyes terribly burned and it is now thought the boy will be permanently blind. E. O Osterman and family are moving into the Harmon Osterman property on West Jackson street, from the farm. Mr. and Mra. Howard McCullough of Tourfn, Kaus., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Purr several days last week Albert Gray a student at Valparaiso University, returned to his studies Sunday night after a week-end visit with his parents here. Mr. Harmon Osterman, one of our well-known citizens, Is lying very sick at the home of Mr. and .Mrs. Amos Brandyberry, suffering with a severe attack of pneumonia.
