| CRUDE OIL TAKES BOOST Advance of Ten Cents a Barrel Is Recorded in Eastern Markets Pittsburgh. Feb. 1— Pennsylvania 11 rude oil and other grades in the eastern market were advanced ten cents a barrel today for the fourth time this year. Prediction was made that $4 oil will be reached within 30 days. New prices are: I Pennsylvania, $3.65. Cabell, $2.51. Somerset. $2.30. Somerset Light, $2.50. Rehearsals are being held by memt bers of the dramatic section who will give two one-act plays at the regular meeting of the Woman's club on Mon- ’ day evening at the Library. The title 3 of the one play is “Six Who Pass t While the Lentils Boil," by Stuart Walker, in which Miss Leona Bosse, Miss Lois Connell, Mrs. John S. Peterson, Mrs. Janies R. Blair, and Mrs. A. R. Holthouse are the characters. Mrs. Blair is directing the play. The other play is entitled. ( ‘‘Everybody’s Husband,” by Gilbert Caiman, and those taking part are the Misses Fannie Hite, Virginia Smith, and Eva Acker and Mrs. Elmer W. Kampe and Mrs. Dan M. Niblick. Miss 1 Hite is directing the above play. The evening promises to be a most en- , joyable one and in order to give others J an opportunity to see, the home talent * plays, the club members will invite 1 guests to the evening’s program. At a late hour the guests were taken to the dining loom, which was beautifully decorated with hearts and valentines. A two-course lunch was served which was also of the valentine decorative scheme. ♦ Miss Marcella Kern entertained the Tri D Club at her home on Seventh street last evening to a delightful sow-
Ing party. Music and sewing were (lie diversions of the evening. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess and favors of dainty valentines were given to the guests. The next meeting will be with Miss Lucille Butler next Wednesday evening. ♦ Members of the Civic Section of the Woman's Aub are especially requested to be present at the important meeting which will be held Saturday night in the Committee Rooms of the Old Adams County Bank. Business of importance will be discussed and disposed of. ♦ The Shakespeare Club mot with Mrs. J. C. Sutton at her home on Sixth street yesterday afternoon at 2:30. A very interesting meeting was held and Mrs. Sprang gave a paper on “Brazil” beginning with South America" and leading to the county of Brazil, with descriptions of the people of that county and many interesting features on that subject. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. 11. R. Moltz with Mrs-Herman Ehinger having the paper on “Children's Stories and their Writers.” ♦ The Women's Auxiliary of the Moose lodge will meet at 7:30 o'clock tonight at the Moose hall. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. S. E. Hite on South Third street., ♦ The wedding of Mr. Oscar Lankenua, prominent business man of this! city to Miss Emma M. Guenther, of, I’etawawa, Ontario, Canada, was, solemnized last evening at eight o'clock at the home of the groom's mother, Mrs, Catharine Lankenau. in Fort Wayne. The Rev. Frank Lankenau, of Napoleon, Ohio, a brother of the bridegroom read the single ring ceremony. Others than the near relatives of the couple who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hite, of this city. Following the ceremony a dinner was served by Mrs. Lankenau. The newly married couple spent the day in Fort Wayne and after February 20th will be at home at 707 North Third street in this city. The bride is well and favorably known in this having visited here on several occasions and the many friends of the couple will be glad to welcome them. Mr.; Lankenau is a member of the Kueb-, ler Dry Goods flrm and is one of Decatur’s prominent and progressive; young business men and the best wishes of their many friends are extended to them. ♦ There will be many attractive bargains offered at the rummage sale to be held in the Methodist church basement next Saturday afternoon. The stock! includes shoes, hats, caps and clothing for men, women and children, and any one in need of such clothing is urged to attend. <• The St Vincent de Daul society met with Mrs. V. J. Borman at her home on Mercer Avenue, last night, with thirtyfive in attendance. A short business session was held after which the ladies sewed. Delicious refreshments were served. Assistant hostesses were Mrs. Bert Gage and Mrs. Teressa Shafer. ♦ The Bachelor Maids met with Miss Maymo Deininger at her home on Madison street last evening at 6:30 o’clock. A delicious dinner was served after which “500” was played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Dick Boch and Miss Adelaide Deininger. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Theodore Graliker. + Miss Agnes Kohue was hostess to the Auction Bridge Club last evening.
