All members of the literature department of the Woman's club are requested to attend tile meeting in the assembly room of the Old Adams County bank, at 7 o’clock tills evening. 4 The domestic science class of the Catholic high school entertained the girl members of the Junior and Sophmore classes at dinner yesterday noon. A delicious three course dinner was served by the young ladies and greatly enjoyed by the guests. 4 Mrs. T. D. The next, meetiing will lie held with Mrs. James Cowan in two weeks. 4 The Baptist Woman’s society met with Mrs. Bina Buliler yesterday afternoon for their regular monthly business meeting with a goodly number present. The collection for the meeting amounted to $70.00, which included the proeeds from the Christmas Bazaar. The hostess served delicious refreshments. ♦ The ' Baptist brotherhood, with about twenty members, will motor to Bluffton tonight to attend the services of the First Baptist church. Harry D. Clark is there directing the singing. 4 A meeting of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the American Legion will be held at the Legion Hall at 7:30 Monday- evening. All members are requested to be present as the election of officers will be held. 4 The Decatur Order of Eastern Star held installation of officers last night at the Masonic hall. The following officers were installed: Mrs. Mayme Myers, worthy matron; Mrs. Bertha Beam, associate matron; G. T. Burk, patron; Mrs. Haley Lee, conductress; Mrs. Stella Coverdalo, associate conductress; Mrs. Leona Graham, secretary; Mrs. Della DeVoss. treasurer; Points of the star, Ada, Mrs. Floy Blair; Ruth, Miss Grace Schroll; Esther, Miss Florence Haney; Martha. Miss Blanche McCrory; and Electa. Mrs. Alma Frisinger; chaplain, Mrs. Alberta Wertzberger; marshal, Mrs. Laura Crill; warder, MrsG. T. Burk; sentinel, Miss Goldie Gay; and pianist, Mrs. C. C. Langston. Mrs. A. J. Hailey is the retiring worthy matron. The chapter presented a bouquet of beautiful pink rose buds to Mrs. Myers, and a gold past matron’s badge to Mrs. Haney. An excellent presentatian speech was made by O. L, Vance. Mi>. Myers made a very interesting speech, outlining the work to be done by the order during the present year. * TWO NET GAMES TONIGHT I. B. Guy Brown, county chairman, in j charge of the sale. |( THREE INTERESTING TALKS i Appreciative Audience At Methodist Church Evangelistic Service | An appreciative audience last night i listened to three helpful and inspiring j addresses at the Methodist church. ‘‘Reasons for Prayer for Home and) Foreign Missions,” was the subject very ably given by Mrs. F. W. Downs, j The Rev. B. N. Covert, pastor of the Presbyterian church, spoke on ‘’Christian Service of Young People.” Service is the secret of real happiness, he said, and he strongly advised young people and all Christians to render service to others. He particular urged social service. It was a timely message, well presented. “Jesus and the Ambitions of Young People,” was discussed by Miss Nellie Blackburn. Jesus encourages ambition, she affirmed, and helps young people to attain J their goal.
