averaging 196 hens, has made a profit
iof $1,195 or $6.09 per hen. Twentyeight thousand eggs were produced, which brought in almost SI,OOO. The ’ rest of the income was realized from ! baby chicks, breeding stock and good I market poultry. Her records cover the period from November 1, 1921. !to October 31. 1922. Mrs. Bushong, in speaking of her work, says: “There are no secrets in poultry raising. My success may be attributed to my love for poultry and my attention to details. 1 have succeeded to the degree that I have been interested in my work. I always take care of seemingly little things and the big things take care of themselves. My build* Ings and equipment are very cheap, but I use them rather than go to the expense of more elaborate and modern buildings." At this time eggs are selling at all the way from 50 to 70 I cents per dozen. Poultry has held its , price for upward of five years. One never hears of an overstock of poultry. Mrs. Bushong's record is worthy of thoughtful consideration. SEE: ‘Why Girls Leave Home?' Crystal Tonight and Tomorrow DANCE TONIGHT, 9 p. m. at Masonic Hall, featuring F. & B. orchestra of Chicago.
