Baumgartner, who has been sick for the past week at his home on Third street, was slightly better today. Bob Myers will make a trip to Ft. 1 Wayne tonight to meet a friend who is to spend Thanksgiving here. Ten pages today. The progressive! spirit of the merchants and the general helpful attitude of the public is appreciated. Sig. Kahn, of Ligonier, who has scores of friends here visited in Decatur today, being here on business.' Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Spencer of Fort Wayne were here today to say good' | bye to old frieds. They will leave Thursday evening for Kansas City where they expect to make their future home. Mrs. Spencer has many relatives in that part of the country and they have decided to reside there for a while at least. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Bell and Mrs. Elizabeth DeVillbiss motored to Fort Wayne this morning and spent the day with friends. o Big Boxing Match In Indianapolis Thursday Indianapolis, Nov. 28. — Frankie Daly, of Staten Island, N. Y„ at height lof his boxing ability, will try to win |<he bantam championship from Joe Lynch, Thanksgiving day after noon, in Tomlinson Hall, at the Elks charity boxing entertainment. The men will meet at 118 pounds. Daly is a real championship contender and several times has had the championship crown ’ within his grasp, but has never been able to gain it. He has fought many champions, however, among whom is Lynch, over whom he has a newspaper decision. One of his great battles was his memorable contest with Pete Horman, then champion, at New Orleans. He has no-decision bouts with ' Champion Johnny Huff, champion Kid ; Williams and Frankie Mason, of Fort Wayne when that battler was considered the best of the bantams. French Vote To Seize Properties Os Germans Paris, Nov. 28.—Premier Poincare's plans for seizing German property and invading German territory were today j formally approved by the French cabinet in preparation for the reparations crisis now considered unavoidable. A notification of the French decision has been sent to the allies. France’s move is likely to take place when the next German payments fall due in January. It will involve seizure of the Ruhr and the setting up of a nominally independent regime on the left bank of the Rhine.
