One hundred and sixty-eight quarts of bonded Canadian whisky were found by police at Michigan City, Ind., Monday, in an automobile which had been towed into a garage in that city for repairs. Fines resulting from violation of the liquor laws in Richmond, Ind., amounted to $9,655 for the first six months of the year, it has been announced. Newberry Denies He Will Resign His Seat Washington, Nov. 15.—Denial was made today at the office of Senator Newberry here that he planned to announce his resignation from the senate within the next few days. The belief prevailed in official circles, however, that Newberry would resign before the new senate elected last week convenes in which it is believed the anti-Newberry forces will have sufficient strength to oust him.
