The democrat are pledged to repeal the law am to reduce taxes. Take no chances. The candidates on the democratic ticket this year are all good men. I/>ol them over and you will agree that they are splendidly qualified and de serving. Take no chances. The deni ocratic ticket is in the second column on your ballot this year. The meeting of the democrats at Berne last evening was an old-time event with plenty of enthusiasm and good speeches. Berne is awake to the issues of the present campaign and will show it by their vote Tuesday. The meetings held by the democrats this year all over the county' have been largely attended and more like the old days than for years. The vote will prove it Tuesday. A gigantic corporation is now being organized to buy and operate the governmqnt fleets of ships and reap a benefit of the billion dollar ship subsidy to be voted them when congress reconvenes. They will make millions and you pay for it for that billion must come one way or another from the people. If you vote the republican ticket next Tuesday you place youi stamp of approval on such work as this. Think!

Besides the Increased state tax remember that this county loses the automobile taxes which would now amount spoilt >40.000 per year. Not a dollar of this is returned to the county nor a penny us the Inheritance taxes. It all goes to the state highway commission. This uccuants for about fifty thousand dollars inerease in local taxes. The democratic party is pledged to change this and to return the uuto tax to the counties. JI U—. Adams countny should give John Tyndall a vote that yill make the rest of the district sit up and look us over. He is one of our citizens. As a public officer he has always kept faith. He is not seeking advancement (or himself, but is anxious only to serve. He is the kind of a man exactly to send to congress and he should have a vote from this county next Tuesday which leaves no doubt as to what this county thinks of the mat ter. Your vote may be the deciding ond. in this election. Take no chances. Herne is to be congratulated on having a Community building, one of the finest in the state, for the excellent musical talent within the town, including the members of the band and the Saxophone orchestra and for be-ng-real hosts and entertainers. The meeting last night proved that they j know how to entertain and do things ind the big crowd present at the democratic meeting was one of the biggest and most successful political meetings ever held in this part of the itata. Hats off to the Berne democrats.

DECATUR DAILY DEMOCRAT, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1922
Senator Fat Harrison, Judge John M. Smith and John Tyndall will apeak here tomorrow, closing the campaign, and a large crowd is anticipated. Senator Harrison knows what he talks about.. He has been in congress for yqars and during the recent session of the senate was the democratic leader of that branch of the government. He will handle his subject without gloves as will Judge Smith, who will talk about your taxed and the present board and commission form of government. It is the new boards and commissions created under republican rule in the last few years that have caused most of the state tax increase. The state conservation commission has doubled and trebled the expenses of the departments it took over and cost the people of the state over >200,000 a year. During the last year and a half the state board of health has condemned 217 school houses that will cost the taxpayers many millions of dollars to replace. All this will appear in local tux duplicates. Under the Ralston administration the public service commission issued orders that saved the people of Indiana millions of dollars. Since that time the public service commission has cost the people, of Indiana tens of millions of dollars in Increased rates. The democra- : tic party pledges to reform these boards and commissions and to bring them back to the purpose for which they were created. The taxpayers of Indiana want good roads but they do not want >4,400,000 spent for main tenance when It should be doue equal ly well for half that sum or less.
