Every member is urged to be present as only one meeting will be held this month. + The Loyal Daughters class of the Evangelical Sunday School will hold .heir regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Arbie Kolter, 410 Mcßarnes street, on Thursday evening. The meeting will take the form of a masquerade party and all members are . sked to come masked. After the meeting a social hour was enjoyed by ail. Various :antes were played. They then went at on the lawn, and made a bonfire ;nd toasted marshmellows and roasted wieners. The next meeting will be at Krills. The Womans club held its first regI ular'session of the season at the Library Monday evening. The Literature section had the program in charge of its chairman, Mrs. Nellie I Parrish.. Mrs. Carrie Haubold reI ported the purchase of a piano, which action was endorsed by the Club. The piano will be placed in the essembly reran of tho Library at which place the meetings will be held this winter. The club as a whole went on record as endorsing tho Better Film Week which is to be conducted in November. Mrs. Parrish then introduced Miss Julian Clarke, of Indianapolis, one of tho most prominent club women and society writers in the state, who used ::s her subject “A Literary Giant of I the Recent Past.’ Miss Clarke regarded George Meredith as this charaei ter. She gave sketches of several of l-.is works as proof that his Ideals in I >''gard to al! things were lofty and his i Hm at all times uplifting and intellectual. At the close of her interesting lecture, Mrs. Dan Tyndall entertained the club women with three solos, which vzere greatly appreciated. ♦ The Young Womans Auxiliary will meet Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the home of Frances Harkless.
