On the whole brokers reported good response bui there was some selling of weakened accounts in the early dealings. Con sequently prices showed an irregulai front at the start of trading. Fraction al declines took place in most of the active rails while fluctuations in th< industrial group were mixed. Heavy selling in the first half houi prodeed new lows on the reaction ii most of the active issues. Liquidation seemed to represent throwing ovrboard of stocks held b;. commission house traders who wen willing or unable to put up more mar gin.
