Stoner of Cloveland. ♦ The Ladies Aid of the Reformed church held an interesting •meeting at the home of Mrs. Ruben Hreinor on East Monroe street, yesterday afternoon. The ladies decided to hold a dollar social at their next meeting, which will be held at. the home of Mrs. Otto Reppert on Eleventh street in October. Each lady is to earn one dollar between now and the date of the next meeting. The next meeting will be designated as guest day also. ♦ The Catholic Ladies of Columbia will hold a shower at the Knights of Columbus hall on next Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, for Miss Edith Miller bride-elect of September 25. ♦ The Women's Foreign Missionary Society will meet with Mrs. Bert Hunsicker on Adams street, at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. The elec-, of officers will be held and air members are urged to pay their dues at that time. + The Literary Section of the Worn-, an's Club will meet at 7:30 o'clock in the Assembly room of the Public Library. This is an important meeting and a good attendance of the members is desired tonight. Circus Elephants Were Captured Near Peru Two elepltants which have been the cause of considerable trouble tc the Robinson circus folks and also to the residents of Peru and vicinity tor the past two weeks, following their escape from the circus quarters, were captured on Tuesday afternoon by j Sam Dill, manager of the Robinson eircus, who came to Peru on Saturday to supervise the capture of the beasts. The elephants were located on the' Paul C. Cattfn farm, 5 miles northeast of Peru and after the larger animal had been captured there was no trouble in securing the smaller me. as the anaimals had been going together since being captured iu Africa.
