Wayne News: — It is rather surprising to the re publicans of Indiana to find State Chairman Lyons calmly ignoring the rul es. by which he is supposed to b n governed, and appointing an execu tive committee made up of the members of a single faction and practically all from the Indianapolis district. In answer to vigorous pro tests Lyons replies with one of hit sleepy and possumdike grins, that his new committee will meet and "revise the rules.” Can any one pen etrate such obtuseness? Such a lack of the comprehension of the mean ing of business and morals? Whilt it is possibly true that existing rule ! were not to the liking of this fellov. I Lyons, the fact still remains that thej nevertheless existed and that he wabound to be governed by them if In were honest and sincere. No actioi taken now by the committee illegal!? appointed is going to remedy the cvl or make a black action white. Th< crass stupidity of a man who thru runs contrary to the will of his par ty and seeks by a resort to Licker? and an impudent assumption of anl cratic power to carry his own waymay not be understandable but on. thing certainly is. This thing is tha‘ the conduct of Lyons instead of as suiting the republican party to vic tory in Indiana is going to cost i thousands of votes, if not, indeed, the election itself. If Lyons were not so dense, one could almost believe thoirf weird stories to the effet that hi i boss, Senator Watson, was seekin to dump Beveridge in order that tin power in Indiana might be his alone. A campaign for new members to the Decatur Industrial association i now being made and it’s a worth cause. If you do not agree with j present policies and efforts of the association get in and help put your ideas over. There is one thing sure: No community gets very far without an organization which does things. During the past two years since this club was formed several new cot: corns have been brought here and I ■■■ - -

many considered. Remember it has been an unusually difficult period in which to go forward but the association has done its best and has made ’ progress. You should belong if you live here and believe in the com- * munlty. Five hundred men and women banded together for the unselfish purpose of uplifting the com- : I munlty in every way, can do anything they agree upon. We can have the ■ best, commercial organization to be I found in any of the smaller cities and we can do things. Your support is needed and desired. The cost is small and the results possible are big. Coine on In, the water is fine. Os course the class committee , wants you to join the yeoman lodge
i but there is nothing which requires : you to do so unless you want to. I It's a dandy organization with a big purpose but its a matter for you to decide for yourself after it is thoroughly explained. However, whether you join or not, be sure to take part in the day’s program. Join the big chorus, go with your church or your lodge and take a place in the parade, hear the addresses, listen to the music and liave the best time
of your life on the 22nd. One of the progressive business men of Decatur has shown the way to a decided improvement to the appearance of main streets by removing the old cardboard signs and bills, from a telephone pole and having the pole painted and placingI thereon his own adverisement in , plain letters, it looks much better and could be followed easily. It ’ * would also help appearances if the two poles on the west side of the corner of Madison and Second were removed and since they are appar - ently of little need, why not? Let’s , clean up for the 22nd. EDITORIAL The Knights of Columbus are to bo congratulated on he investment in the hadsome block which will be their home and so are our people for he new owners will see that the building is made modern and kept in excellent repair. It shows a progressive spirit for the upbuilding the community and a substantial sanding that can only be acquired by any organization by owning real estate. If we have to wait for congress to pass special legislation before the coal strike is settled, we had better all start, south or be getting our i "heavies” ready and they will have to be good and heavy. Hundreds of people have no coal in the bins and the outlook Is rather dismal. The action of referring it to congress is about the most discouraging step so , far taken. Join the Adams county chorus for Yeoman day. It’s a fine thing to sing and you will enjoy it. It’s a finer thing for the people of a county to get together and to sing together. Be at the gym tomorrow evening and plan to attend the public rehearsals. You will enjoy it and be doing a real favor to the community. The cool nights are to remind us

that within a few we will all wish we hud filled the coal bins when we had a chance. — > — William Tieman of east of town was a Decatur visitor this morning 1 Says His Prescription has Powerful Influence Over Rheumatism Mr. James H. Allen, of llochoster, N. Y., suffered for years with rheumatism. Many times this terrible disease (est him helpless and unable to work. Ho finally decided, after years of ceaseless study, that no one can be [ free from rheumatism until the accumulated Impurities, commonly culled uric add deposits, were dissolved In the joints and muscles and expelled from the body. With this idea In mind he consulted I physicians, mode experiments and finally compounded a prescription thal I quickly and completely banished every sign and symptom of rheumatism from his system. He freely gave his discovery, which ho called Allenrhu, to others who took i It, with what might be called marvelous success. After years of urging he decided to let sufferere everywhere know about Ids discovery through' the newspapers. He has therefore In-j strut ted the Holthouso Drug Co., to i dispense Allenrhu with the understanding that if the first pint bottle does not show the way to complete recovery he will gladlv return your I money williout comment.
