CHARITY BOARD APPROVES PLANS Os Memorial Hospital to Be Erected in Decatur in the Near Future In a letter to A. J. Smith, chairman of the board of trustees of the Adams County Memorial Hospital, the state board of charities, through the secretary. Amos Bulter approve the plans and specifications for the building of the hospital as prepared by Architect Oscar Hoffman of this city apd express the belief that if the construction is good as the plans that Adams Comity will have a model hospital. The letter to Mr. Smith is as follows: — Indianapolis, Ind., May 15th. Mr. A. J. Smith, Chairman board of Trustees, Adams County Hospital,, , Decatur, Indiana. Dear Sir: —“It is our understanding that the final plans and specifications of the proposed Adams County Hospital Decatur, as submitted by Mi* Oscar Hoffman, architect, Decatur, Indiana. have been approved by your board. Our committee on Plans has examined the final plans and specifications submitted and hereby approve same. If you get good construction based on these plans we believe you will have a well arranged institution and one that will meet the needs of your community.” ‘Yours very truly. WARD SCHOOLS TO HOLD ANNUAL EXHIBITS AT THE SCHOOLS TOMORROW NIGHT Patrons of the three ward schools, the North Ward, the South Ward, and the Riley Building, and the general public as 'well, are invited to attend the annual exhibit of the ward school to be held in the respective buildings tomorrow afternoon and evening. The exhibit will open at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and remain open until 5 o'clock. The doors will be opened at 7 o'clock and remain open until 9 o’clock that night. The Parent-Teachers’ Club of the South Ward will hold a picnic supper ■ll the school lawn at 6 o'clock Thurs'ay evenirtg. The commitee in charge of the supper is desirious that all members of the club attend and bring their supper.
POSTOFFICE AT KINGSLAND HAS BEtN ABANDONED The postoffice department has announced the discontinuarfte of the postoffiee at Kingsland and mail will go to former patrons of the Kingsland postoffice by rural routes, most of them to be served from the Ossian cilice. Milo Nelson was the last Kingsland postmaster and he tendered his resignation, on account of age and infirmities. W.e reccips of the office had dwindled in recent years until the salary became merely a nominal sum, and no one it appeared, cared to accept the responsibilities with the small pay.—Bluffton News. BLUE CREEK FARMERS ENJOYED MOTION PICTURES AT WOOD SCHOOL MONDAY On last Monday evening the farmers of Blue Creek Township met at the Wood school and enjoyed an evening of motion pictures shown with the Farm Bureau machine. Films furnished by the United States Department of Agriculture on Club Work and home conveniences were shown by County Agent Buschs.. The matter of the purchase of binder twine through the Farm Bureau was also discussed and will be further considered at the next meeting, which will bo held about the middle of Juno. There were about seventy-five men, women and children present at the meeting. AUTOS COLLIDE A large Studebaker touring car driven by Mrs. John McCrory and a Willy-Knight coupe driven by Dan Erwin collided at the corner of 2nd and Jackson streets about 10 o'clock this morning. The Erwin car was going worth on 2nd anti Mrs McCrory was driving west on Jackson street, side curtains on her ear preventing her from seeing the cotrpe uptil she was upon it. The McCrory car striking the Erwin car a glancing Mow on the right rear wheel damaging the front of the Studebaker and throwing the back wheels of the coupe out of line. I
