TO REMODEL CHURCH At a meeting of the congregation lof St. Joseph's Catholic church, foij lowing the mass yesterday, plans were discussed for the enlargement | of the church edifice and the erection :of a parish house. As proposed, the improvement will cause an expend!- : ture of appraxiraately >12,000 and 5 plans are now being drawn by Architect Fred Nusbaumer. The church i building will be moved from its pres- ■ ent location to the east on the corner lot. A concrete basement under I the entire building and an addition to house the sacristy and sanctuary |is proposed. The building is to be ' stuccoed and made modern through- ’ out. U. of Pleasant Mills Baptist church will hold a pie social Saturday evening. April Ist at the Pleasant Mills high school. Each lady and girl is asked to bring a pie and the men should bring plenty of money. There will be sandwiches, coffee and ice cream for sale also. A humerous program will be given during the evening. The Jr. W. W. G’s will meet at the horn of Mrs. Clarence Sell from 4 to 6 o’clock this evening. The Baptist Women's missionary conference of the Salamonio association will meet at Warren Thursday, April 6 for an all day session. The meeting wil include Baptist members of the association. ♦ The missionary society of the Reformed church will meet Wednesday afternoon in the Sunday school rooms All members are requested to be present as there are a number of comforts and quilts to work on. ♦ The Delta Theta Tau Sorority was entertained at 6:30 dinner last evening by Mrs. Jackq Brunton. The Grand Inspector, Miss Ruth Whipple of Pi ' Chapter, Portland was present. After diner followed the regular business meeting and a written examination. Miss Whipple returned to her home in Portland this morning. The Yeomen had a splendid meeting last evening. A large attendance and much enthusiasm and interest made the meeting better than usual. ♦ The C. L. of C. degree team will practice Wednesday evening. . THE COURT NEWS As a result of a family disagreement which necessitated the calling of Chief of Police Reynolds yesterday afternoon, divorce proceedings were filed this morning by Russel Andrews vs. Cecelia Andrews, charging her with cruel and inhuman treatment and asking that a divorce be granted him and that custody of the five children be given him. Complaint was filed and summons ordered returnable May 30. Homer H. Knodle is the attorney representing the plaintiff.
